The history of Bullet Proof Business.

Bullet Proof Business was started by Lance Imeson. Lance was a lawyer in private practice for 21 years. He founded Bullet Proof Business on a dream to help business owners to get their businesses to deliver the real results they were looking for.  Lance's professional qualifications are:

In 1981 Lance started working as an Articled Law Clerk in Townsville with the law firm Boulton, Cleary and Kern and he commenced studying his Law Degree externally with the Queensland University of Technology. Thus began his life long passion for business. After being admitted as a Solicitor in 1987 Lance worked as a Solicitor for the Law firm Corsetti, Stower, Treanor and Morrow.  The following year he took a position at Farrellys Lawyers and, in 1989 was invited to join that firm as a Partner and remained in that partnership until the end of 1996 when he moved to the Gold Coast with his family and commenced practice on his own account as Imeson Property Lawyers. Utilizing his strong passion for business, strategy and direction, over the following 11 years he successfully developed an extensive array of contacts and built that firm from a standing start to having two offices, one in the growth hub of Coomera and the other in Surfers Paradise.  Lance divested the practice at the end of 2006 and worked as consultant to the firm. 


Over the last 21 years, Lance has coached, trained and empowered all manner of legal staff from lawyers, to paralegals, secretaries and administration staff. As a lawyer owning his own business he has utilized his significant problem solving abilities, creativity and innovation skills to achieve major successes in multi-site expansion, successful market positioning and branding, strong team building, excellent performance management system design and thorough implementation, design key checklists and advanced telephone scripts that delivered outstanding results. He has provided critical legal and practical problem-solving and key decision making advice to a broad range of individuals and businesses small and large.  He has acted as Legal Counsel to a number of multimillion-dollar private companies including Garozzo Agencies a large food wholesaler and distributor.  For many years he acted on behalf of Glenwood Homes a large Queensland project-home builder and Fiorellis a large independent Liquor distributor.


For many years he was a trusted advisor to Rankine Brothers, a large timber and building products manufacturer and distributor.


Lance has extensive experience in the franchise industry, having represented clients in the acquisition of various franchises such as the Cheesecake Shop over the years.
He has been involved in extensive litigation against virtually every insurance company across Australia in the motor vehicle, maritime and aviation industries.  He has represented and advised parties in litigation against banks and lending institutions and represented combatants in difficult and complex civil and commercial disputes.  He has been involved in litigation with and against Liquidators and Receivers and Managers.
He has extensive experience in the Building Industry having advised, assisted and represented a wide variety of subcontractors and commercial enterprises and negotiated with various developers and large construction companies such as Multiplex and many others.

Lance is a past Regional Councillor of the Queensland Chamber of Commerce and Industry and has been a guest speaker at various functions conducted by the Queensland Law Society and the Department of Tourism, Industry and Small Business.  Lance also developed the highly successful My Lawyer campaign which was aired over various radio stations.

He has over the years assisted many trawler operators and closely advised a number of dive operators.  He acted as Legal Counsel in the acquisition and subsequent sale of the Big Cat which at the time was one of only two commercial tourist vessels allowed to service Green Island off Cairns in Far North Queensland.  He has arrested ships and acted in salvage operations of submerged vessels off the Australian Coast. 

Lance is a past Vice-President of the Gold Coast District Law Association and a former member of the Mortgage Industry Association of Australia.

Lance’s formidable problem solving abilities, creativity and innovation skills extend beyond mere legal solutions and extend into every aspect of strategic design, assessing risk, formulating direction and implementing strategy.
